New Contracts
Exhibition Design
2021
For the second iteration of the London Design Festival for the Royal College of Art, we created a show about the hotly discussed post-COVID design ethos. The ‘great reset’ that COVID if helping to kick-off was reflected through the show from cradle to grave. All the materials we sourced were rented, made of recycled content or had a life after the show.
The main element, Euro boxes, were part rented part taken home by students or to be used in the Design Products studio space. The plinth tops were made of a recycled paper pulp sheet material called Honext were all recycled again after the show, even with the coat of paint.
Part of the curation of the show was a ‘passport’ that was printed and stamped on site and given to the visitors to create a narrative of personal involvement and responsibility in the new contracts that needs to be written between designer and consumers.
