White City Place Theatre
2019

Following the success of the Wembley Park Theatre, the relationship with Troubadour was continued on a second theatre in White City. Although White City Place Theatre is a temporary location built from a scaffold structure it has been given all the care and attention that a bricks and mortar project would be.

The key brief to the site was to create a space that was different to the rest of the theatres and temporary spaces in London, to create an energetic space whilst still being functional enough to cater for a large theatre capacity.

The initial intention from the client was to box in all the scaffold structure hiding its true identity, but in doing so I saw a lot lost potential. Keeping the structure bare gave the project much needed head height as well as visual appeal to a space that would otherwise feel very flat. Inserting areas of bold colour and bespoke furniture pieces into this then gave a readable structure to the space guiding participants to the bar and restaurant beyond.
